Memorising Things Is Good
You should memorise more things.
Memorising things gives your brain access to better ideas. It gives you richer concepts, frameworks, templates, and processes for coming up with insights.
You can’t memorise everything, but when you happen upon an idea that will definitely be useful for all of your days, you should commit that thing to memory.
Important dates in your life, the major internal organs of your body (and what they do), your personal values, or ideas from psychology, philosophy, business, etc that feel foundational.
For useful ideas that resonate with you, keep them in your brain, enjoy them forever.
